How do I join OP?

YOU CANNOT JOIN OP BY CONTACTING US.
In fact it's the reversal.
WE CHOOSE YOU!

So how do you recruit new members?

Any of our OP members from around the world can recommend you and in turn you will be contacted once the collective group has vetted the OP member's recommendation.

How many OP memberships are handed out in a year?

Only
6 MEMBERSHIPS PER YEAR are assigned.

Is there any way I can improve my chances in getting an OP call?

Yes. Participate in our OP NETS or actively seek to work OP members and tell them you are interested in becoming an OP member.

What if I want to work with other call signs?

Its up to you whether you use your OP call sign.  We don't rule you.  However, if you have other calls ask yourself why you really want to have an OP membership and not use it?

Do I have to be a big DX'er with lots of confirmed DXCC?

No. The OP group is not all about DX or rare stations. It's about the operator and willingness to follow the ethos of our group, i.e. radio and radio friendship.

What if I receive an OP invitation and don't accept it?

We will not be offended and respect your decision however once you have been offered a call you will never have a second opportunity.

Isn't OP being elitist in with this approach?

No. We keep a tight ship and pride ourselves on our values and committed members who are prepared to work as a team. This has been the approach since 1981.
